  • Thanks for the post Arnold. Actually I found the patient interactions to be very similar to the ones I've had with Dr. Walton in East Dallas. Most folks were nice and very appreciative of the help. From a true care provider standpoint, I'm just an observer for the most part, it is indeed MUCH easier to work in this environment because of the lack of paperwork. In some cases we didn't even know the names of the patients and all 'histories' were oral and could be summarized in a few seconds. They weren't on any meds and didn't have any preexisting conditions to consider because in many cases Dr. Walton was the first doctor they'd ever seen. As long as the care providers behave and are competent this works well, however inevitably mistakes will be made and that’s why we need a paper trail.
    As far as what to take back, I think the understanding that around the world people are basically the same and treating them like human beings not only does wonders in providing effective care but also in breaking down barriers.
